My skin had a moment after I got home from vacation!
One day my face was smooth, loving the cool weather, and new products. Then, bam, we get home and my face looks like this ~~>
I know it was a mix of things.
First, there was all the extra sugar I was enjoying on vacation— my parents are big on sweets and I couldn’t resist. But sugar is not my skin’s friend, and it added fuel to the breakout fire that erupted on my skin.
Then, there was the change in environment— Florida was having a cold front and it was glorious. But before you know it, I'm back to sweating my butt off in the humid, Puerto Rican heat.
And we can't forget the airplane ride home. The dry cabin air and pressure changes left my skin dehydrated, and then it overcompensated by getting extra oily.
So, if you’re planning a trip and are concerned you'll have to deal with acne along with the unpacking, here’s my advice:
Here are four quick tips for keeping your skin radiant during vacations:
• Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate: Drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated from within, especially if you’re in the sun or flying.
• Stick to Your Basics: Bring a simple, tried-and-true skincare routine to avoid surprises from new products while away.
• Moisturize Often: Use a lightweight moisturizer to combat dry cabin air and hot weather, preventing your skin from overproducing oil.
• Limit Sugary Treats: Vacation sweets are tempting, but too much sugar can lead to breakouts—try to balance with hydrating foods like fruits and veggies!
Hope this helps you avoid a few of those “welcome home” breakouts next time!
Great tips!
